Who We Are

We have loved the beauty and spirit of the Arabian horse for many years. As busy city professionals, we take comfort in promoting these elements of the breed as a simple yet remarkable joy in our lives.

Richard Drew is a Professor at Griffith University. As an internationally-recognised biologist, he established and continues in the position of Director of the International Centre for the Management of Pest Fruit Flies.

Glenys Drew manages the Senior Manager Development Program at the Queensland University of Technology.

In the midst of our busy lives, our horses provide enrichment and enjoyment as we build our stud into one that emulates the beauty and great functionality of the Arabian horse.

Where We Are

The 100 acre Rose Gum Arabian Stud is located just outside the historic town of Beaudesert in the south east Queensland hinterland; an area surrounded by spectacular world heritage listed national parks.

The Beaudesert shire represents a unique mix of town and country living, and is less than an hour's drive from both Brisbane and the Gold Coast. The district has the highest concentration of horse studs in Queensland and is recognised nationally for its annual Beaudesert Country and Horse Festival, held in June.

There are a wide range of tourist activities (http://www.beaudeserttourism.com.au), and extensive horse and rural facilities in the district.

Come for a visit and drop in and see us!
